Belated post-World Cup 2010

Congratulations to Spain for its first ever World Cup trophy! Better luck next time for the Netherlands, and congratulations also to Germany and Uruguay for a thoroughly entertaining third place play-off match.

What's your favourite moment of the 2010 World Cup? On-pitch and off-pitch.

Meanwhile, the U-20 Women's World Cup has just started in Germany. I wish it was screened where I am -- the Mexico v Japan match sounds like all kinds of exciting.

Thomas Müller's goal vs Argentina at 2:40. Özil's fabulous run up the left against England and Müller's resulting goal. Schweinsteiger's playmaking against Argentina (assists on either all 4 or 3 of the goals).

I can't pick just one. But I think TEAMGEIST sums it up.

Oh, lots of glorious moments, too many to pick!

- Pretty much each and every elegant German move <3 My team was wonderful and enthusiastic 50% of the time, which is an unprecedented high for the German NT :P

- The Netherlands kicking Brazil out of the World Cup. (This is directly connected to my grudge because of the Brazil v North Korea game: terriblest game in history of football. I want those 90min of my life *back*.)

Off-pitch: uuuuh...hm. Fernando Torres looking so sad but edible on the bench? *cough*
runefrancisco: Keisuke Honda (honda)

Loved those outstanding free kicks by Honda and Endo for Japan vs Denmark.

The German team - I'm still deeply impressed by their performance. They managed to hook me on football for sure.
