Nicht schlecht: Mesut Özil
Nicht schlecht: Lira Bajramaj
Making Of
Will anyone be watching? :)
And onto Bundesliga news...Is anyone else happy that Schalke won the Pokal? And that Benedikt Höwedes finally got called up to the NT? YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY, I are excite for the three games coming up :D
Dear mod, is it possible to get tags for the German NT and for the bundesliga? And perhaps other tags as well, for both players?

If you've fallen for Mesut, then I've succeeded! >D I fell for him during the World Cup and haven't looked back since. He's my favourite ♥
And he and Lira are totally adorable together here. ♥

Now I have a raging girl crush on Lira, omg. She is perfection.

And they are so flawless, aren't they? ♥

I have to confess I never took much of an interest in women's football, but I'll give it a shot for this World Cup.
And I really should start watching the Bundesliga more so that I won't have these "hey, who's this new player?" moments when my NT plays *cough* But giving talented youngsters a chance is always great!

XD Most of what I know about new players I learn from tumblr or lj XD It's a pain having to download bundesliga games, especially since I'm a NT fan XD Like, I've tried to watch club games, but I find that...I just don't care about the non-NT players! Major failure XD

Heh, I suppose everyone watches football differently ;) As for me, I could write essays about why the German NT is so massively important to me, but the team I care about most in all of football is and always will be Liverpool FC.

And Lira is smokin hot. I'm an equal-opportunity ogler.

hehe, equal opportunity is always the best! ;)

I have some philosophical issues around ogling female athletes (or movie stars or whatever) because of the whole objectification of women in our culture, but, dammit, I like looking at attractive people, and I'm bisexual. But I still feel a little creepy doing it. Stupid patriarchy. (And besides, she's a good player! And I think Mesut is kinda goofy-looking, but he's a wizard with the ball.)

I can see where you're coming from. I admit, as someone who is asexual, a lot of this kind of nuance often escapes me. And I really really really don't get the thing about Mesut's eyes. My friend kept going, FISH-EYES, but I was like...um idgi???? DDDDDDD: I thought he was pretty cute since first laying eyes on him, and that combined with his talent, well, it was no wonder he would become my absolute favourite ♥ (Though really, I love this entire NT to death.)
/rambling XD;;;;

It's one of those things I've had to figure out in the decade or so I've known there was such a thing as being bisexual. It's very weird sorting out whether it's objectification or attractiveness, because it doesn't bother me when I gawk at male footballers' abs or thighs (or when I bond with a gay guy over how hot footballers are). But good-looking people are good-looking, so why shouldn't I think they look good? (I guess the line is around "thinks they're just there for looking good" as opposed to thinking they have value outside their physical features...)
He's got kind of weird bug-eyes! That's what makes it not work for me. He's got a sweet smile, and in some photos the bug-ness is minimized, but when he's on the pitch, focused on the thing he loves, it's just beautiful.

Yes, that's how I understand it as well.
I really don't see the bug eyes! His eyes are unique (at least I haven't seen them on anyone else before), but I don't think they look like fish-eyes or bug-eyes. 3: But I'm bad at seeing what the majority of people see, anyway.... He does have a sweet smile, yes, and he plays very beautiful football indeed. ♥

unisexmen's sizes, but apparently a L or XL in the babydoll t-shirt varieties. Bah.I go more in for the Arne or Mats type. The Lord of the Rings extras ;) Sure, defenders don't often get to do anything spectacular or pretty, but they're just as important. And every now and then, they make a spectacular tackle or block.

I like Arne and Mats, too! Well, physically and as footballers ;) And the NT really needs better defenders...>_<...Philipp is really the only ~amazing one we have atm, and I'm really hoping Benni and Mats can form a great team...if Jogi starts Benni >_

Over on Twitter, folks are thinking he'll start everyone he's called up (or at least give them SOME playing time) over the three matches, just to test it out. I'm looking forward to seeing how (U-21/Hertha) Pierre-Michel Lasogga develops. He's a middle striker, a real poacher, and if he does well over the next couple years, he could solve our Klose-retirement problem.

I wish I could have afforded to travel to Berlin for the Aufstieg and Meister parties. I'll just have to live vicariously through twitter and pictures on the internet.

Lasogga's young, and he hasn't become totally consistent yet. He played in 25 matches (started 19) and scored 13 goals and had 4 assists. (from the bundesliga.de stats) But one of the things we lack is a finisher and Klose back-up. Gomez is the definition of inconsistent (and his haircut offends my sense of taste), and he's got a different style than Klose. There are a few more on the U-21 team right now, so we've got potential...in 3-5 years probably. Maybe in time for 2014 in case Klose gets injured or starts losing his form (or his NT form starts looking like his Bayern form, God forbid).

Oh man, yeah, Gomez has nothing on Miro, imo. His style is totally different, I agree, and while he may be doing well at Bayern, his NT record isn't exactly great.... (I don't mind the hair, though, when it's a bit long. XD I really don't understand why so many people take issue with it! XD) Thankfully Miro's kept his NT form up...S: I do think that if we had to, we could change our formation to maybe 4-3-3 or something, but 4-2-3-1 works so well for us (and apparently Jogi changed to this to accomodate Mesut's playing style! And Mesut is going to be with us for a long time yet...), so I'm glad to hear that there are youngsters who can take up the slack when the older players retire ~_~

Mario got his hair cut in a really unfortunate style http://www.kickette.com/mario-gomez-what-did-we-do-to-deserve-this/ The long hair was nice (I like chin-length hair on guys!) but this new style is just. Eeew.

Oh, yeah, that hair. :| The older long hair I liked, though it seems that a lot of other people didn't like it. :| I wish Basti would let his hair grow out again, though. :( And I'm super happy that Mesut's hair is so long now *o*o*o*o* Sami and Sergio have been good influences in this regard! XD
